   Colditz castle was a high security prisoner-of-war camp for officers who had become security or escape risks for Nazis. Located  near Leipzig, Dresden and Chemnitz in the state of Saxony in Germany.

An M10 tank destroyer, with the 773rd Tank Destroyer Battalion, supporting the 90th Infantry Division, near the city of Mainz, on the river Rhine in Germany.
   Mainz was captured on 22 March 1945 by the 90th Infantry Division.
