A final variant of the M4 Sherman tank, the M4A3E8, belonging to the 21st Tank Battalion, stands near a burning house in Rosswalden, Germany, about 15 miles (24-25 kms.) east of Frankfurt; April 20, 1945. - The "Easy 8" Sherman had a new suspension system, wider tracks and an improved high velocity 76mm gun.
