Crewmen of a US Army 57mm Anti-Tank gun M1, have taken up position in the center of a badly damaged French Town in September 1944. This American built copy of the British designed six-pdr anti-tank gun fired a 7.23-pd. APC projectile at a muzzle velocity of 2800 ft. per second. The barrel of the American weapon was 16 inches longer than that of the British version of the gun, giving it a slightly higher muzzle velocity. (scanned by HOS Bandit)
