Soviet body armour.

Waffen-SS NCO (?Totenkopf) with very unhappy-looking Soviet PoW, Russia, unknown date and location. The prisoner is wearing Soviet-pattern body armour similar to that shown in a previous post. Again, the breastplate has a cutoff over the right shoulder, presumably, to facilitate use of rifles and submachine guns. Still looks impractical for anyone other than a machine gunner operating from a fixed position. Best regards, JR.
