Soviet Forces
British-built, Soviet-operated Churchill tank moves across the frozen Russian wastes, date and location unknown. Soviet tankers liked British-built tanks because they were generally reliable, and because the highly ductile British armour reduced spalling in the event of suffering a hit. On the whole, they preferred their own tanks (not surprisingly) but still, the Soviet appetite for Churchills and Valentines was generally beyond the ability of Britain to satisfy, given their own armoured vehicle requirements. Best regards, JR.
