Soviet antitank squad trains prior to the German Operation Zitadelle, 1943.  The deep defence, incorporating dug-in antitank squads, frustrated German armoured attacks, and went a long way to securing German defeat at Kursk.  Best regards, JR.

Soviet soldiers examine German heavy tank destroyer "Ferdinand" put out of action. The peculiar detail of this photo is SSh-36 steel helmet on the soldier in the foreground. This model was quite rare in 1943.
