V.Zaitsev the sniper who became famous due to his feats during the battle for Stalingrad. In this photo (far left) he poses with members of his company - April 1944. Zaitsev was a very short man,upon arriving at Stalingrad he was looked down on and was at 1st made a unit messenger until his marksmanship talent was noticed
