HAWKER HURRICANE sent to Soviet Union by the british. This one was flown briefly by russian naval ace Boris Safonov's in wich he shot down an Bf-109 and a He-111 in the end of 1941. Safanov was killed in may 1942 in combat with german-´s JU-88 attacking PQ-16 convoy. In this combat he shot down 3 ju-88. He was flying a Curtiss Tomahawk. Interest to know is the fact that the russian does not like very much the Hurricane, they considered it heavy, underarmed and fragile. Most of the russian Hurricanes had their armament changed to 4 x20mm cannon.
