From Barbarossa to Odessa - Volume 2
Slt. av. Teodor Greceanu of Gr. 7 vân., Esc. 56 vân., scored tree air victories and several ground victories during the 1941 campaign. Slt. av. Greceanu is depicted here in his personal mount, Bf 109 E-3, No. 9, nicknamed „Hai fetițo!” (C'mon girl!), parked on Salz airfield in September 1941. Slt. av. Teodor Greceanu (20 confirmed + 4 probable victories). In 1947 he was fired, because the new communist authorities needed people with a "healthy" past (and fighting on the Eastern Front wasn't). In 1949 he was arrested. Until 1964 he had seen almost all of the Communist prisons and forced labour camps. He escaped once, but was recaptured. He was condemned to death twice, but his sentence was converted to life in prison. In 1964 he was set free, like all the other political prisoners. He died in December 1995 in Bucharest.
