A fine portrait of the third ranking Romanian ace, Of.ech.cl.III Ioan Milu, enjoying a cigarette with German Pilots in the summer of 1944. Then aged 42, Milu was the oldest Romanian fighter pilot in the frontline. He is wearing the Mihai Viteazul Order, Third Class, a Frontflugspange in Gold and Iron Cross, First Class, along with his Romanian pilot's badge.
