Polish Forces
They were carefully selected and trained in the United Kingdom to be the first to be dropped on the Polish territory. The soldiers of the brigade wanted to be transported to Warsaw during the Uprising, to take part in the battle, but for the British ‘it was technically impossible’. Instead, the brigade was assigned to the unfortunate Market-Garden Operation and was wasted. They were dropped into a German trap and their number was quickly reduced from 10000 to 2000 soldiers.
