In the picture,Polish infantry,1939. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Polish Army lead a very important role in the life of Polish society in 1939.It was caused by: -a good way to make a career in the Army -some feeling of confidence and hope of protecting borders -great military traditions as Poles are very sensitive when it comes to their own history -a myth of power built after the fabulous victory over the Soviet Army during the Battle of Warsaw in 1920 -a sincere love of Poles towards their beloved commander who brought them back Poland's independence-the love towards Marshal Józef Piłsudski -a generation of young recruits (students from high schools) brought up at schools in a clearly patriotic way. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- All these factors made,that Polish Army and society entered the 1st September 1939 very confidently and honourably...................which resulted quite fast in a big disappointment when Warsaw gave up and Poland collapsed. komandos10 "Bóg,Honor i Ojczyzna"
