Battle of Sutjeska diary 06.06.1943 The UK War Department informed its government that it had information that the Chetniks in Herzegovina and Montenegro had been compromised by co-operating with the occupier and that well-organized partisans were fighting the Axis forces during the recent fighting in the Montenegrin-Herzegovinian area (Battle of Sutjeska). The Supreme Staff of the National Liberation Army ordered the South Group Headquarters to suspend the transfer of the 3rd Shock and the 7th Division of the NOVJ to the left bank of the Piva River and to move the immovable wounded to Mount Durmitor and the Piva Valley, and with the lightly wounded crossed the Tara River and the Ljubišnja Mountains. Through the improvised bridge at the village of G. Krushevo, where they suffered great losses from German aviation, the units of the 7th Division of the NOVJ switched to the left bank of the Piva River and soon rushed to Vucevo. Germany 7. SS Division -Princ Eugen- pushed the 7th Krajina and 10th Herzegovinian Brigade of the 3rd Shock Division of NOVJ to the village of Tjentiste and the northern slopes of Maglic and occupied the village of Mratinje and the mountain Maglić.
