In May 1940, in term of armored forces the Netherlands had only about 3 dozens armored cars, 12 each of the swedish made Ladsverk L-180 and L-181, called the M-36 and M-38 in Dutch service, and about a dozen of the indigenous DAF M-39 who had just become operational by the time of the german invasion.
