Yugoslav Air Force Spitfire V embedded in the No 352 (Y) Squadron RAF in turn an unit of Balkan Air Force, the multinational force with aircraft and men of eight nations activated on 7 June 1944 and based in Italy, at Bari, for give air support of Special Operations Executive-operations in the Balkans, across the Adriatic and in the Aegean and Ionian seas. Especially the Balkan Air Force supported the operations of the Yugoslav partisans against German forces in Yugoslavia and those of resistance organisation Greek and Albanian. Commanded by an Air Vice Marshal of the British Royal Air Force, the Balkan Air Force was disbanded on 15 July 1945. Victor Sierra
