Happy Canadians

German children watching the flight of a low-flying American Douglas C-47 transport aircraft "Skytrain" over the destroyed houses in Berlin. The city was blockaded by the Soviets and the western allies supplied it by air. The blockade lasted for 11 months (June 1948-May 1949).

Berlin airlift

This looks like a wartime photo of a Hetzer with some soldiers using it as a lookout.In fact it's a  photo  of the American Das Reich reenactment unit.Proof of the fact that today it's not always easy to recognise the real from the fake.These reenactors seem to go a very long way in their desire to relive a horrible period.More photo's and info on :
