Eric Lomax,a British WW2 veteran,whose memoires are currently being made into a movie,has died on monday,aged 93. During the war Lomax worked as a POW on the Birma Railroad.In his memoires(1995) he tells about his live as 'The Railway Man',not only about his experiences as a POW but also his postwar search for the Japanese soldier who questioned and tortured him.In the end he forgave the Japanese soldier for his behaviour. The book became a bestseller and won 2 literary prices.In 1995 it became a tv-movie,'Prisoners in time',starring John Hurt as Lomax. In 2013 the movie 'The Railway Man' will come out,from director Jonathan Teplitzky. Colin Firth and Jeremy Irving play the older and young Lomax. Nicole Kidman stars as his wife Patti.
