From an ad dated 1959, which I thought some here might enjoy. The tank’s advertised features included an intercom system, revolving turret, elevating gun, co-ax MG, range finder “for pin-pointing targets,” a “real periscope,” 2-way radio controls, whip antenna and flag! I imagine the Pentagon could have saved some major bucks if they’d just bought these Shermans...of course, things are QUITE as good as it sounds – you had to pay an additional 63¢ for shipping charges. If you’re curious, NO, sorry, they’re not even Army surplus decoys after D-Day. Though never said in the ad, discussion on the web-site this came from indicated the “real” tank was made from printed cardboard, of the “insert tab A into slot B” nature. :-)
