Former SS-Oberstrumbannfuhrer Adolf Eichmann with fluffy friend, photographed in Argentina, 1953. Seven years later, the logistical mastermind of the Jewish Holocaust (he made the deportation trains run on time) was abducted from Argentina by agents of Mossad, Israel's intelligence and espionage agency, and of Shin Bet, Israel's security service. In 1962 he was tried by an Israeli court on 15 counts of indictment, including crimes against humanity, war crimes and crimes against the Jewish people and (not surprisingly) was convicted, and sentenced to death. Adolf Eichmann's sentence was executed by hanging at Ramla, Israel, on 31 May, 1962 - 50 years ago on this day. Best regards, JR.
