On June 6, 1969, the 25th anniversary of D-Day, General Omar Bradley, 76, surveys Omaha Beach, some 160 yards from where he landed at 10:30 a.m. on June 7, the day after the invasion was launched. Bradley recalled that even the day after D-Day, German artillery salvos were still roaring over the beach.
