The remains of US pilot Roy Johnson have been transferred from Belgium to Sacramento,California after being MIA for 67 years. Roy Johnson died on Christmas evening in 1944.He was shot down by a German column while flying over the woods at St-Vith,Belgium.His plane and body were not found. Dawn Johnson,his niece,archeologue,went looking for him on her own.On her findings the US Army started digging in a wood near St-Vith. So at last after 67 years ,on the 5 th january 2012 his remains were handed over to his family. His body shall be laid to rest in the family grave near Camp Sacramento where he played cards and passed time with his friends before he shipped out to Europe to fight. May he rest in peace.
