Musee de l\'Armee, Brussels
A very useful-looking gun, this model entered service with the Belgian armed forces in 1934. Interestingly, the website of the Musee de l'Armee, Brussels indicates that the Belgian Army fielded only 24 examples in 1940, and that surviving examples were used in coastal defenses by the Germans. The small number in Belgian service may suggest that this was treated as a "commercial armament", with much of the production being sold abroad - but I have not researched this subject. Perhaps somebody In Here can enlighten me further ? ( Armaments have, since the sixteenth century at least, been an export industry in what is now Belgium.) Best regards, JR.
