Ruined German bunker, one of several on Alderney, Channel Islands.  The Islands were occupied by the Germans from 1940 to 1945.  British plans to expel the Germans in 1943 were not proceeded with.  The Germans on the Channel Islands eventually surrendered unconditionally to the Royal Navy following the general unconditional surrender of German forces in 1945.  Best regards, JR.
