I have come across this picture while browsing the Web. It shows an Iranian soldier wearing a gas mask during the Iraq-Iran conflict and what seems to be a German MG42 in the background (needs double confirmation). I knew some weapons/tanks from WWII were still in use after the war, but I did not think that it could be as late as in the 80s...
