This photo shows the endless rows of crosses on the german cemetery of Lommel/Belgium. It is the biggest military cemetery in Western Europe. 38560 german soldiers from WW2 and 542 of WW1 found eternal peace here. Each of the crosses mean two fallen soldiers. On 6221 graves you can read the writing: Ein deutscher Soldat (A German soldier). Those casualties could never be identified.
