The battle for Bataan (January 7, 1942 - April 9, 1942) is one of the decisive battles of the Philippine operation. Suppression of the resistance of the US-Philippine army on the Bataan Peninsula and Correchidor Island allowed Japan to establish control over Luzon Island and the entire Philippine archipelago.
