The pilot in the cockpit of a Japanese bomber Mitsubishi G3M1 Type 96 land-based attack aircraft "Rikko"; Allied reporting name "Nell", was a Japanese bomber and transport aircraft used by the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service (IJNAS) during World War II.

This Japanese soldier played dead for almost two days half buried in a shell hole holding a live grenade. Promising no resistance, he was given a cigarette before being removed from the hole, Iwo Jima, 16 March 1945.
