Japanese photographer Yosuke Yamahata was working for the Japanese Army in the neighbourhood of Nagasaki when the Americans dropped the bomb on August 9th 1945. When Yamahata heard the news he immediately went to Nagasaki. The next day, August 10th, he began taking photos. The photo album was confiscated in Osaka by an MP at the end of the war. Yamahata died in 1966 of cancer, 46 years old, with the cancer believed to be caused by the radiation. Auction house Bonhams in NY will auction that album with some 24 Original photos.
