The General Italo Gariboldi, from 10 July 1942 commander of the 8th Italian Army in Russia knew also as ARMIR-Armata Italiana in Russia (Italian Army in Russia) descend from a Regia Aeronautica’s S.81 transport plane likely at Stalino airport (today Donetsk, Ukraine) during an inspection tour to Italian forces deployed on the Eastern Front.
