"Grafometro"

Foggia airfield, Southern Italy, 1943. Allied soldiers, likely on board on a former Italian truck commandeered, passing near an Italian fighter Fiat CR.42’s wreck. The wreck’s status suggest an airplane destroyed by a ground loop (note the upper wing’s status) and subsequently redressed and moved to borders field (the large stones aren’t obviously of a runway!). The CR.42’s wing are still the Fascist emblem; therefore the plane was phased out before the Fascism’s fall (25 July 1943). The photo was taken by a serviceman of the USAAF’s 57th Fighter Group just the arrival at Foggia. Victor Sierra

In this photo the classic flight crew’s composition of a three engines Italian bomber Savoia-Marchetti S.79 “Sparviero” (Sparrowhawk): on the left the 1st pilot, which is also the aircraft’s commander, always an officer, on the right the 2st pilot, an officer or a NCO, in the center the flight engineer, a NCO, usually responsible for the engine’s running. In front of 1st pilot the gun sight of the upper fixed machine gun forward firing operated directly by the same 1st pilot (but often removed). Note the pulled parasol curtain over the 1st pilot’s seat. Victor Sierra
