This Macchi MC.202 is one of the Italian Co-Belligerent Air Force’s fighter aircraft employed for air dropping of currency, papers and mail to Italian troops isolated on the Balkans after the Italy’s Armistice, September 8, 1943, and the consequent declaration of the war of Kingdom of Italy to Germany, October 13, 1943. The load is accommodate inside the two under wing canisters released in flight over the dropping zone. For similar missions was employed also the Reggiane Re.2001s, while the biplane CR.42s was employed for liaison missions with landing near the troops. Victor Sierra
