Italian Forces
Bundesarchiv/Moosmuller.
Bundesarchiv 'photo dated 1942 and attributed to Fritz Moosmuller, showing Rommel (rather indistinctly, in staff car) visiting Italian "panzer troops" with Italian "Sturmgeschutz" Semovente 75/18. This was probably the most useful Italian-manufactured armoured vehicle, although the low muzzle velocity of its main armament (an adaptation of a good-quality 75mm mountain gun) made it a less than ideal counter to Allied medium tanks. Best regards, JR.
