Examining the chart

While the mechanics make ready a Macchi MC.202 fighter aircraft, an Italian fighter pilot, perhaps the leader, wearing a totally white flight dress, study with other pilots the large an classic aeronautical chart 1:500,000 employed for many decades virtually until the eve of modern computerized and satellite systems. Note the life jackets of different colors (personally I have a doubt for the pink color of the leader’s life jacket, perhaps a color corruption or an incorrect colorization). Date, unit and location unknown, but perhaps on Sicily or mainland: the MC.202 has in effect a “continental” camouflage and seem without sand filters. Victor Sierra
