Regia Aeronautica’s transport planes Savoia-Marchetti SM.82 “Marsupiale” on an Italian airport, perhaps one of the Southern Italy’s airfield employed such a base for aerial convoys to North Africa. The aircraft on the right, without the right engine perhaps removed for overhaul, is a SM.82 also employed like long range bomber. Note, in fact, the retractable nacelle for aiming under the nose. In the photo appear another SM.82 overflying the airfield observed by three peoples (two civilians and a military) on the ground. Victor Sierra
