Another interesting vehicle is the Pavesi artillery tractor. On the photograph a column of Pavesi Model 30-A is shown, each tractor is hauling a 100-mm howitzer.

Italy, the homeland of Ferrari, Nuvolari, Bertone and Farina, produced military vehicles which can (and should!) be declared the icons of Dieselpunk. Let us begin with the venerable Lancia 1Z. This autoblinda (armored vehicle) was designed short before Italy's entry in WWI and still served in colonies in 1940. Here are some Series 3 Lancias in Italian East Africa.
