Italian Forces
One of more than twenty Cant-Z-1007 "Alcione" (Cant-Z-1007bis and ter) taken by German forces in airports of Northern Italy after the Italian Armistice of September 8, 1943. The airplane, a Cant-Z-1007bis, has the German marking but the code on fuselage, WL+23-67 isn't a code of an operational unit. Perhaps is an aircraft pending the delivery at Aeronautica Nazionale Repubblicana, ANR, the Air Force of Italian Fascist Republic. Note, in background, a Fiat G.55 "Centauro" of ANR. Photo taken in airport of Northern Italy, perhaps 1944. Victor Sierra
