The Ambrosini SAI.207 was a light fighter interceptor built enterely in wood and developed in Italy during World War II. It was a good aircraft, and considering it had an engine of only 750 HP, had a top speed of over 300 MPH.  Unfortunately, it was somewhat difficult to fly and had some problems due to it spruce construction.

Commander of submarine, gained among others, 2 bronze medals, 3 silver medals, 2 German iron crosses (1st and 2nd class), 1 gold medal (to memory).
Beloved for his humanity by his crew and even by the enemy.
Famous all over the world in the war chronacles for having saved, on his own risk, all the crews of the torpedoed cargos Kabalo (Belgian) and Shakespear (British). 

Commander Salvatore Todaro

This was the Italian Air Forces first all metal bomber and entered service in 1936, It heavily used during the Spanish Civil War but by the beginning of World War II, it was starting to show it's age.  By 1942, it was employed mainly in maritime patrol and in  training bomber crews.
