Naval manouvres of may 1938 off the Naples harbor. About 200 ships for 1400 officers and 25000 sailors took part at the exercitation. Hitler, in official visit, was impressed. The manouvres contemplated simulated attacks by submarines, destroyers and MASs, and a firing test against a radiocontrolled target-ship. All this in a fantastic scenario: Naples harbor with the Vesuvio, the Sorrento coast, and the islands of Ischia and Capri. This picture was taken aboard of the battleship Giulio Cesare, head-ship of exercitation and platform for the Italian and German staffs, military attaches, journalists etc. The photo represent Capri and battleship Cavour.
