Italian Forces
During RSI, for the first time in Italy, was introduced a female military service for volounteers in non combat duties. It was the SAF (female auxiliary service of armed forces). Every formation had its ausiliarie: there was the SAF of Xa MAS, the SAF of GNR, Black Brigades... etc. etc. Some of these women fall in combat with their male comrades, many were killed and/or violated by partisans after the and of war. The picture, a paperback of a war magazine, represents an Ausiliaria.
