The N3589 by now Italian

Stato Maggiore Aeronautica

The Bristol Blenheim IV N3589 already with the Italian markings just after its arrival at Guidonia from Pantelleria, here landed for a mistake. At the date of the announcement of the Italy’s armistice, 8 September 1943, the N3589, proved to be still at Guidonia, likely no more in flight conditions and perhaps missed during the frenetic weeks came to the Italy’s surrender. Few days after the N3589’s adventure, on 27 September 1940, another RAF Blenheim landed on an Italian island, this time Lampedusa, but was destroyed by the crew before the capture. After the Yugoslavia’s surrender, April 1941, a Royal Yugoslav Army Air Force’s Blenheim result seized by the Italians, but it’s a Blenheim Mark I. Since the aircraft which appear the movies is a Blenheim IV, therefore this plane is the N3589 landed at Pantelleria. Victor Sierra
