Meharisti were colonial troops perfectly fit for saharian hot environment, mounted on fast and resistent dromedaries called Mehari in arab language.
As you can see they have a Tuareg look-like.

Italian officer of Meharisti on his dromedary. In this case he wears a regular uniform, but very often officers used to wear the same desert-fit dress of their men, in a perfect Tuareg-like style.
