In the center of the picture (with one star and a chevron on collar lapel) is a sergeant (probably he is a translator). Presumably, the picture was taken on the border with Austria; April, 1945. 

Negotiating a surrender

Hungarian soldiers are posing on a disabled 8.8 cm anti-aircraft/anti-tank cannon (known as FlaK 36, Flugzeugabwehrkanone, meaning "aircraft-defense cannon"), on the Eastern Front.
On the barrel of the gun, 12 white bands are visible, indicating the number of enemy planes shot down or tanks knocked out - depending in what role it was used - by the battery; 1942.
