Ferenc Szombathelyi (né Knausz or Knauz; 17 May 1887 - 4 November 1946) was a Hungarian military officer, who served as Chief of Army Staff during World War II.

As chief of staff, he was a level-headed commander and remained loyal to Horthy's national regime until forced out of office under Reich pressure. But the choices available for Hungary during the war were limited, and not particularly promising.
