These prisoners of war are using their old Hoved issued tents to supplant or augment the space available in a run-down country house standing behind them. No American guards appear in this and the other photos eventually taken back by the released POW's to Hajdubagos, Hungary.

Hungarian POW Camp in Germany  

A group of Hajdu prisoners of war line up for a group photo at the Bocholt camp located in NW Germany. Their expressions are as varied as they are revealing -- being proud, stoic, resigned, defiant, and even angry. But in general, they appear to be in good physical health.

In what appears to be a former German military base or POW camp, the Hungarian POW's seem to have plenty of free time to take care of personal matters like doing their laundry. In general, the atmosphere of this American directed camp appears to be easy going.
