Two prototypes of the parasol-wing, two-seat trainer named Levente (paladin), designed by András Fábián, were built at MAVAG ( Hungarian Wagon and Machine Factory) in the city of Győr. A slightly modified military version of this trainer was named the Levente II, manufactured at the Uhry brothers'  Repülőgépgyár Rt. on the Csepel island of the Danube, south of Budapest.

Between 1941 and 1943, one hundred Levente II trainers were supplied  by the Repülőgépgyár Rt. to the RHAF, this light plane also serving communications/liason roles.
