18 January, 1919 - 94 years ago today - delegates gather in the Salle de Horloge, French Foreign Ministry, Quai d'Orsay, Paris, for the commencement of the negotiations that led to the Treaty of Versailles, perceptively described by the 1920s comic historians of England, Sellar and Yeatman, as the "Peace to end Peace".  At least some people saw where this would lead ... JR.

I wonder what the bystanders are looking at.Did the soldiers actually fire the guns(onlookers watching the 94mm explode) or did they just go through the motions and dry fire?
