\"Wabbit\" Hare-57th FG

This picture is part of an extraordinary photographic album with 344 photos, almost in color, taken by James C. "Wabbit" Hare, pilot of 65th Fighter Squadron of USAAF’s 57th Fighter Group, during his deployment on Mediterranean theater from 1944 to 1945. The “Wabbit” Hare’s album, an precious historic document today part of very rich 57th FG’s website, include pictures from Corsica, Grosseto, Cannes, Villafranca, Verona, Venice, Rome, Pisa, Athens, Naples, and the Sea Owl, the ship used for the return to US. Before based at Grosseto, the 57th FG, equipped with P-47D Thunderbolts, was deployed at Villafranca Airfield from 18 April to May 1945. Victor Sierra
