Palermo, Autumn 1943. While the conflict rage in the rest of Italy, in Sicily the war is finished and a warming Autumn time, like all the Sicilian Autumns, invite to go swimming or a boating trip at the Lido di Mondello, one the beach most trendy of Palermo. A way of forget the war without watching the derelict and beached seaplane Cant-Z-506 in the other hand intended to disappear very soon. The large building pile dwelling built in art nouveau style on the right of the photo still existing and, at the time as today, is a luxury bathing establishment. Victor Sierra
