The Hitler Youth salutes the Fuhrer in Nuremburg during the 1937 Nazi Party Congress. Over 50,000 children-almost 90 percent of them boys-attended the rally. Members were required to be in Hitlers words,"slim and slender, swift as greyhounds, tough as leather, and as hard as Krupp steel." Membership became mandatory as part of the complete Nazification of Germany. By 1938 the Hitler Youth-whose members began military training at 11-was 8 million strong. (scanned by HOS Bandit)
