Gas drill of civilian population’s rescue arranged at Brescia, Northern Italy, late Thirties when the Italian Government considered the air attacks against the town with gas a serious threat in the event of the war. This exercise is organized, in cooperation with the local medical corps as the Brescia’s Croce Bianca (White Cross) supplier of the ambulance, by UNPA- Unione Nazionale Protezione Antiaerea (National Anti-Aircraft Guard Unit), a civil defence organization established on 1934 and reorganized on 1936 for training and rescue of civil population hit by air strikes. The UNPA, controlled by the War Ministry, was a volunteer organization until 18 June 1940, a week after the entry in war of the Italy, when UNPA was militarized. Victor Sierra
